Southern comfort food at its finest. Large portions, super friendly staff. Anytime I'm in the area I'm going there!

I ordered the pork chops with sweet potatoes, mac n cheese, fried cornbread, and baked potato casserole — and everything was fantastic, way better than I expected. At first glance it looks like your typical soul food spot, but this place is special. The flavors were rich and homey, and every dish tasted like it was prepared with real care. The cafeteria-style service even brought back memories of school days when the food was made from scratch and served with love. Swett’s is a Nashville gem — I’ll definitely be back!

Swett's is about as down-home as it gets. It's meat-and-three style (though you can get as many of anything as you like) with a set menu of proteins and sides. I was impressed by the baked chicken; it has a ton of flavor and moisture and pulls right off the bone. None of the other food really wowed me. It's all perfectly fine, just not too exciting, but Swett's isn't really the kind of place to go for exciting food. It's a community staple frequented by locals on a lunch break, on the way home from work, or after church on Sunday. The staff are warm and welcoming and it was a joy to watch them interact with regulars.

My family and I moved near the Swett's corner about six years ago and we walk over to the restaurant on the weekends for lunch. The atmosphere walking in is a little nostalgic with its cafeteria still dinner, and the smell of the food just so inviting. Walking up to the line and waiting, you pass through this wall of fame where they have autographed photos of all the famous people that have dined there throughout years, almost like walking through a time machine. Finally you grab your try and untencils and are mediately brought back to reality by the smell and sight of the wonderful and delicious southern food down the line. Your greeted by the nice ladies working the line and are ready to make your dreams come true (culinary wise). Besides the food being so delicious the portions are healthy enough to go home and take a nap, and if your asking yourselves what the prices are like it doesn't matter its worth it trust me. We recommend 10/10. So we'll see you there this weekend!!!

A comfortable dining area greets you when you enter the restaurant. Nice folks working the cafeteria line. It’s clean and well run. So many delicious choices from the main courses, the scrumptious sides, roll or cornbread pancake, and tempting desserts. Even the choices of drinks available. Great food, great portions and an even greater value. I am so glad I went and I am grateful to the folks who work here for making my stay so pleasant! Update April 2024 We got the fried chicken and two sides for $13.25! The fried chicken was perfect. The turnip greens were tender and delicious. Fried apples, sweet potatoes and the cornbread pancake were all great. The food tastes so familiar because it’s homemade with solid ingredients and a nice recipe. I was protecting my food when I was eating it because it was so good and I didn’t want to share it with my dining companion. That’s when you know it’s good! It was another perfect southern cooked meal!

Very reasonably priced "meat & three" soul food with a great variety of home-cooked choices served cafeteria style. They must be doing something right to still be in business since 1954. I had the fried chicken with green beans, squash casserole, potato casserole, and mac & cheese. Corn bread came with the meal too. Of course you have many dessert choices, but we went for pecan pie

What a gem of a find in Nashville! Homestyle southern cooking.....delicious! We have the pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, Pinto beans, cornbread and dinner roll. Everything was excellent! Friendly service and a cool vibe.
